Middle East Is Out of American Hands

57 Muslim states of OIC gathered in an extra-ordinary OIC summit to fire arrows on the latest American-Israeli policies. In a rebuke at Donald Trump, the 57 members of the OIC agreed to move in an emergency summit in Istanbul. There Turkish President, Recip Tayyip Erdogan spoke against the policies of USA and Israel.
As a result of the summit, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation members concluded that the role of USA as a mediator between Israel-Palestine conflicts was now over. All of the OIC conference members agreed, in the final communiqué that movement of the US embassy to Jerusalem was infact "US administration’s withdrawal from its role as sponsor of peace”.

In addition to the defaming of Israel and America, the OIC members recognized the East-Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

As the streets are tensed with protests, the similar was the case of the summit.
Trump is facing a major backlash from the Muslim nations owing to its pro-Israel policies.

Amongst the nations united in the name of Islam, there were cracks visible between the Middle Eastern Nations. Some of the allies of the US were presumably adopting a muted approach in this matter. Countries like Saudi Arabia and Egypt did not send their prime ranks to the conference, signifying the lack of interest in this matter.

This, however, was not taken lightly by the Turkish foreign minister. Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu was seen criticizing the Arab states for not paying enough heed to the remarks of Donald Trump’s decision. He said,
“Some Arab countries have shown very weak responses. It seems some countries are very timid of the United States.”

Tayyip Erdogan: The Global Islamic Leader

In this event of mixed emotions, Recip Tayyip Erdogan established himself as the greatest leader of the Muslim states. He did his best to put the issue of the Jerusalem ahead of the Islamic Rulers. Moreover, he defamed Trump’s pro-Israeli policies to a huge extent.

Erdogan claimed Trump to have a “Zionist Mentality” and exclaimed that US has “no question” of continuing its role as a mediator of piece in the Middle East. He called Israel a “Terrorist state” which was responsible to “Kill [Palestinian] Children”.

In accordance with the comments of Tayyip Erdogan, Mehmoud Abbas, the Palestinian President said,
"The United States has chosen to lose its qualification as a mediator… We will no longer accept that it has a role in the political process from now."

Analysis

This extra-ordinary summit of OIC was filled with high emotions. There was a strong backlash against Trump for moving the embassy to Jerusalem. However, this is an established fact that the mediator’s role is to strive for the upbringing of peace, and unfortunately, Donald Trump has not been able to provide that role in the region.

The establishment of East-Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine is another big step of this conference. The city of Jerusalem is important to Muslims, Jews and even Christians. So, proclaiming Jerusalem as a state of Israel enables the access of Jewish and Christian states completely, yet becomes a hurdle for the Muslims that do not accept Israel’s sovereignty. This kind of issue can yield a potential catastrophe if US and its allies try to take any potential step against this move.

There is a massive thought that this hype and rage of the Middle Eastern nations will die down eventually, and Muslims will have to rely on USA mediation once more for the peace in the region. On the other hand, despite Tayyip Erdogan presented strong remarks, he did not talk about closing the diplomacy with Israel. Erdogan is a leader with a good insight. Hence, the diplomacy of Turkey is still in place to rule USA out as a potential mediator.


We have seen in the past that Turkey has been an active part in highlighting the issues of Palestine. Therefore, there are high expectations from Erdogan to take a good step in bringing back peace in the region, which according to some has become impossible. However, owing to the policies of the Islamic summit as a whole, every country seems to follow its own course of action.

Of course, you heard about the Chinese president Xi Jinping. Well, President of United States has also described him as the best leader of china in a century. Even though China’s economy and its army are still on a second level compared to the US but Trump seems to always be losing his position internationally and indeed in his own country. What are the situations in which Trump failed to handle the pressure? And how these mishandling s are proving as a massive throwback to Xi’s politics internationally?

In January 2017, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, President Xi Jinping promised that china will become the chief of globalization, free trade and even the fight against climate change.

 China in last forty years has changes a lot since a traditional agriculturist country to a modern industrial powerhouse. China’s GDP per ca pita is greater than Brazil and Colombia combined.

Additionally, in service holds a key place in the economy. For example in electronic commerce China represents forty percent of all global transactions beating United States and Europe. Growth has been so large in this might country. In last six years China’s private consumption is grown by 2.5 trillion dollars, an amount that equals India’s entire GDP. In any event, this is not bad.

Investing abroad: making allies

Additionally, China is investing hundreds of billions in new Silk Road project which will pave way for Xi Jinping’s country to establish new economic relations with several states. Explicitly, it will connect china with states of Central Asia, Africa, Middle East and Europe. Henceforth, the countries of these regions may turn into Chinese allies into future.

 China reportedly, has invested about 1.6 trillion Dollars abroad. China recently opened its first naval base in abroad at Djibouti also investing 20 billion dollars in Venezuela. According to the CGIT, China has invested approximately 2500 large transactions across energy, real estate, technology, and other industries. Surprisingly, United States is the major invested soil of China’s Government and private ownerships in every aspect above.

Trump’s frivolous behavior

On a funny note, in my opinion it was Donald trump’s ridiculous behavior towards China’s neighbor and as being said a nuclear arsenal holder North Korea. Earlier in his campaign, he stated that he would drop a Nuclear Bomb in North Korean territory. This actually could not happen as this is not a smooth method to deal with.  Namely, Donald trump quite after sometime has been accused of using inappropriate language and crummy tweets regarding the nuclear crisis. Consequently, threats of a nuclear war turned into a war of word on Twitter. On the whole, it proved that world should not take the words of US president exact vigorously.

Analysis

China is playing heavy according to the two main approaches of International relation.
As a realist state, China has shown his military capabilities in South China Sea quite toughly. From building new island to a strong stance claiming the older ones in controversial islands, China has given US a hard task to deal with.
Being a Liberalist country and a admirer of free trade, China has now holds a key position in world market from Japan to America and from Europe to Africa. China’s economy is the biggest economy in the world and we hope that this huge market will provide more healthy business in near future.

The Russian President has made a surprise visit to Syria on Monday. Putin also stopped in Turkey and Egypt as a part of this whirlwind tour and had meetings with the officials. This was a highly influential visit to the Middle East which some say was a part of a greater mission.

Putin Wants To Take Advantage of Trump-Rage

While the American President Donald Trump is sparking outrage in the Middle East with his speeches, Putin has played the role of a sober and dependable partner. The Middle Eastern landscape sees a majority of Muslim powers, which are against Israel to claim Jerusalem. Therefore, to Putin, this is a chance of new relations.

In Cairo, Putin has asserted the recommencement of the direct Russian Commercial flights since 2015. There were also talks regarding a nuclear project expected to be around $30 Billion and about Russian Air Force using the Egyptian bases to maintain the air superiority in the region.

In Ankara, Putin met Tayyip Erdogan for the eighth time this year. This is a proof of the improving relations between Turkey and Russia after the assassination of Russian Ambassador and shooting down of the Russian fighter.

 In Syria, on his first visit since the authorization of Russian Military Intervention, Putin met Bashar al-Assad and declared victory over the IS. At Khmeimim air base near the Syrian coastal city of Latakia Putin delivered a victory-speech. He said,

“In two years, the Russian armed forces, together with the Syrian Army have defeated the most combat-capable group of international terrorists… In connection with this, I have made a decision: A significant part of the Russian military contingent in the Syrian Arab Republic is returning home, to Russia."

Analysis

Putin’s visit was no less than a political plan to gain support of the word-hurt Middle Easterners. Since Trump was busy declaring lands as capitals, the Russian think-tanks were at something more important. To me, this was a mission to gain the support of the disappointed Muslims.

The Muslims from around the World have a deep feeling for Jerusalem. Following the remarks of the American president, there is a lot of backfire. Hence, there will be no such implementation if the peace of all sorts has to be preserved. We are seeing many different authorities coming out and stopping Israel from considering Jerusalem as a capitol. Hence, we can assert that such an action won’t be taking place in the near future.

However, if we look from the Russian perspective, the same stance of America provides them a win-win situation. Trump is calling for a plan that is never going to happen in the near future, and the Muslim World is aggrieved over his assertions. So, the Russians have a sleek chance of intervening and making a fortune out of this catastrophe.

This is exactly what Putin has done. He hailed support to the annoyed Arabs and in response he dished out many important strategic and economic goals that can aid Russia in a long run.
Turkey and Arabs have also realized that the Trump-policies are not in their favor aesthetically. So, relying on a new power is getting more vital day by day. Hence, Russian move towards a better relation-building yields the results that can go a long way.

The only lobby that is facing a loss with this mission is the pro-allied nations’. The coherent Middle-Eastern policy of the US administration has failed with consequences of more failure coming towards them.


We are seeing Russia gaining more ground in the political warfare against USA. Hence, we are seeing Turkey moving away from the Americans, and soon, the balance of power in the European region will shift tides once more.
